Hi

How is it possible to handle the HTMLview in .asx files?
I use a skin with my WMP10, but I can't get it to stay in skin mode when I
play a radiostation with PARAM name="HTMLView" in the code.

I would like to put some code in my skin so it either will not execute the
HTMLview code OR make so it can actually show the HTMLview in a window.

How is this done?

Best regards /Simon K

I'm unaware that this would be possible. HTMLView mandates the full player
window. Is there any particular reason you're trying to stay in skin
lockdown?

Yes, I am using my skin on a touchscreen, so my skin is made for kiosk mode.
It really shouldn't shift out of my skin. If the skins can't handle HTMLview
I will have to break up all the asx's and make my own with the same media
source file (in my case radio stations). This is of course possible, but it
makes it more difficult to teach others to add radiostations to the playlist
and I am not sure about the copyrights in this.
Or is there another way to handle it?

thnx. /Simon K

Then the easiest thing to do is to use the Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc)
to lock the user into a skin of your choice using the "Set and lock skin"
policy. This would be the appropriate decision for a kiosk. :)

you're right! That solves the problem. But will it work on Windows 2000
as well?
thnx.

I believe so if you use WMP9 for Windows 2000. I don't recall if WMP7
supports that policy.

Hi Zach. I have now installed Windows 2000 on a pc and then WMP9 (the
latest none XP version I believe). Everything's been updated, but
Windows Media Player is not listed in the Group Policy Editor!

Is there anything I can do to get it there?

thnx /Simon K
