Atomic skin causes player to disappear

Something freaky; I switched to the 'Atomic' skin in media player - the
thing disappeared from the desktop, and right-clicking on the item in the
taskbar does absolutely nothing. Task manager shows that it's running, but
I'll be damned if you can access it! What's up with that?

Sounds like either the skin is offscreen or you're missing it. If you
resize your desktop using the Display control panel, it should pop back on
screen. Or you can use the right-click mouse button on the keyboard once
WMP has focus, and that should give you WMP's context menu.
