WMP problem, help please!

Hope someone can help me!
I have the basic WMP for W 98. Usually when i view movie clips that are
mpegs, the player works fine, however something has happened & i can't
figure it out!
When i click on the mpeg, the Media player doesn't appear until it's
finished downloading & when it does, it just shows the outline of the screen
& the stop/start button & the white streaming line. At the top it says
"media clip client document"
Someone on another group says i have downloaded a skin, not knowingly!
How can i remedy this

What's the basic WMP for Win98? There's different versions available. What
exact version are you using?
